BRANDTS KLÆDEFABRIK

Brandts Klædefabrik, Cultural Center and home of the Museum of Visual Arts
Odense, Denmark

In Odense, the birth town of H. C. Andersen, an old clothing factory has been transformed into a center of culture with shops, exhibitions, restaurants, the Academy of the Funen Arts and a well-known museum of arts and visual arts.

At the core of the area the Amfi Stage is one of the landmarks of Brandts Klædefabrik. It is often used for concerts and theatrical performances and will easily accommodate 2.500 spectators.

The Amfi Stage is situated in the heart of the old buildings dating all the way back to 1869, when Brandts Clothing Factory was established. Covering the stage and part of the spectator area is a large space frame structure offering shelter as well as a modern contrast to the old industrial settings.

Levi Jensen has been responsible for the steel construction and the space frame structures in close cooperation with the main contractor.
